Love song of the week

To me, this is the best love song... And yes the Music video had a great roll to play in that decision.

Our Deal by Best Coast

Lyrics
When you leave me
The bed is empty
And I feel crazy
Cause I didn't say anything
I wish you would tell me
How you really feel
But you never tell me
Cause that's not our deal

When you leave me
You take away everything
You take all my money
You take all my weed
I wish you would tell me
How you really feel
But you never tell me
Cause that's not our deal

I wish you would tell me
How you really feel
But you never tell me
Cause that's not our deal

That's not your deal
That's not my deal
That's not your deal
That's not my deal
That's not your deal
That's not my deal
That's not your deal
That's not my deal
That's not your deal
That's not my deal
That's not your deal
That's not my deal

How amazing is that music video? Directed by Drew Barrymore and starring Hollywood's finest? i mean come one, what is not to love?

It went a little bit like this

Everyone laughs at me when they hear i tweet local and international celebrities and i always thought "watch this space, you will see" and boy did that day come!
I knew i was going to the Cornetto love is in the air concert and i thought hey it would be worth a try to tweet all the headlining bands for an interview. I tweeted Jax Panik, Locnville and the December Streets and asked if it would be possible to get an interview.
The December Streets were the only ones to reply (nice Jax panik and Locnville) and they accepted. let's just say my friends were a little bit jealous.

In case you don't know who the december streets are here is a little information:

The feet stomping, skirt lifting, shoulder popping musical bliss by Pretoria based band, December Streets, have been caressing the ears of many since 2009. Only in 2010 when beat lyric combos of Tristan Coetzee (vocals and guitar) and Gideon Meyer (bass and sax) – boasting a 7 year musical camaraderie – united with the brilliance of Afro-funk player Nico van Loggerenberg (lead guitar), the beat popping Corneil Clasen (drums) and our very own SA born Satchmo, Waldo Boshoff (trumpet) did the December Streets really progress to what you know them to be today.

December Streets with their eclectic rhythms, slick beats, reggae/ska trumpet, symphonic trio of guitars and a voice to match is uniting genres and people alike. Their style ranges, but the catchy beat-lyric combos found in songs like ‘Fire through the Window’ and ‘Who Needs Shoes’ are signature.

Together, the boys in the band are bringing fresh flavour to the SA scene. Their EP was recorded at Anti-Motion studios, featuring campus hits ‘Fire through the Window’ and ‘Who Needs Shoes’, which both reached the number one position on TuksFM’s Most Wanted and SA Top 10 charts. ‘My Name’, has been playlisted on 5FM, taking the number one spot on the Rock Chart and peaked at 16 on the international charts. December Streets continue to play at shows and festivals across the country including Splashy Fen and SA Big 5 (KZN), Oppikoppi and Aardklop (NW), VredeFest (GP) and MK Avontoer (WC).

Untainted authenticity, a contemporary yet pioneering sound and terribly addictive tunes are all on the menu. Tune in!

I got to the evnt and went through the press entrance. I had access to the VIP room and the band VIP room. man i felt coolio.

Well, imma not keep you in suspense any longer..
( KEEP IN MIND IT WAS MY FIRST INTERVIEW)

People get inspired from anything and everything. What and who has inspired your music?

The bands we listen to influences our music greatly. Especially Two Door Cinema Club (who they recently saw live, i am so jealous. Apparently it was mind blowing), The Kooks, Paolo Nutini and Phoenix

I just want to say wow they have great music taste

Why did you start a band since you all are busy studying completely different careers?

Some of us started playing together randomly when we were in high school and when we got to University and met the others and decided to form a band. It is something we love doing.

What is your favourite song to perform?

Definitely My name and Fire Through the Window. It is our most famous songs and the crowds sing along. It's great.

See the music videos of My name and Fire through the Window at the beginning of the post

Being a fashion blog, I should ask you what is your personal fashion sense?

We don't really have one, we are all about being comfortable. Tristan however loves the whole boat shoes look. A trait of ours is shoeless on stage.

What is the best/sexiest thing a girl can wear?

When a girl is comfortable in what she is then it is sexy but stilettos, leggings and skirts are definitely sexy.

What is the worst thing a girl can wear?

Wedges and a tracksuit are definitely a turn off

note: the boys did have clashing opinions

Durban, what is it to you?

It is just such a great vibe and we love the beach. The girls are definitely also very good looking

The End
...

I would like to thank all the boys for giving me the opportunity to interview them, they were truly nice and they are the most down to earth band ever.
